RenovaLase®

RenovaLase® is Fotona's non-invasive laser therapy for the treatment of vaginal atrophy and uro-genital syndrome.

Through this innovative Fotona technology, a non-ablative photothermal treatment of the vaginal canal is obtained. The use of low energy levels induces mild hyperthermia and microvascularization.

In this way, an improvement in the blood supply to the vaginal wall and enhanced production of collagen (improvement of regenerative processes) is achieved. These tissue changes lead to an improvement in the elasticity of the vaginal tissues and increase the acidity of the vagina to normal values.

By restoring a normal and healthy vaginal environment, many of the symptoms of vaginal atrophy diminish and disappear.

Due to the fact that the laser used is in a fractional mode of action, each therapy reaches a small part (6%) of the vaginal tissue. Patients experience clinical improvement after the first procedure. It is important, however, to continue with the remaining scheduled sessions of the therapy to achieve a long-lasting effect and result.

Laser treatment of the vagina aims to restore the condition of the vaginal wall from the period before the atrophy. As a result of the thickening of the mucous membrane, its supporting function against the urethra is also strengthened, whereby the symptoms of urinary stress incontinence decrease.

RenovaLase® therapy is a fast, non-hormonal, non-surgical, innovative, highly effective procedure performed with Fotona's high-tech NXDynamis laser system. The main advantage of Fotona's RenovaLase® procedure is that it is performed in an outpatient setting (in the office) - painless, without ablation, without surgical incision, without bleeding and without sutures. Recovery is extremely fast, and there is no need to use analgesics and antibiotics.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How does the procedure work?

Photona's RenovaLase® laser therapy takes place in two stages. The procedure is performed on a gynecological chair. Your treating AG specialist will insert a special glass speculum into the vagina, which limits its contact with the laser applicator. Through it, the vaginal mucosa is processed along its entire length, working according to a strictly observed protocol. There is usually no pain or burning sensation during the procedure. When processing around the entrance to the vagina, it is possible to feel a slightly stronger burning sensation, which, as a rule, is short-lived. The duration of each procedure is about 30. The treatment is short and usually includes 3 sessions in 30 days.
